About Us

 

GCHMU's Makeup:
GCHMU has 5 Part Time Duty Officers who are responsible for safety, recruitment, emergency response, team training, outside training, policy and procedures, overall readiness, equipment procurement and maintenance. They are:
Chief Don Bennett
Tim Deye
Chief BJ Jetter
John Stirnkorb
Bob Welch
GCHMU has 1 Full Time Office Administrator named Brooke Wright who is in the office from 7am-4pm M-F to answer any questions.
Our Unit is also made up of 5 Chemists/Research Personnel and 165 Haz Mat Technicians from varying agencies.
All team members are from the fire service, public service organizations and are industrial/government technical personnel.

Our Principles

Comply with federal & state OSHA & EPA regulations.
Maintain strict accountability for all funds.
Respond only when requested by the local incident commander.
Report to the IC as a group in the operations section.
Recover expenses from response by invoicing the responsible party.
Assist Incident Commander with cleanup resources.

Who We Are

A non-profit regional team organized by the Hamilton County Fire Chief’s Association and the Northern Kentucky Firefighters’ Association.

Governed by a Board of Trustees representing the fire service, the public, local government and tri-state businesses.
In service April 21, 1991 after almost 8 years of Planning.
Capitalized by local business and industry
Funded by local governments in Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana
