Training And team requirements

Training and Team Requirements:

All GCHMU HM Technicians are required to have a 40 hour Hazmat Technician class and an 8 hour refresher class annually thereafter. In addition, each member must complete 12 hours of GCHMU approved training.

GCHMU sponsored training is offered monthly on the second Saturday of each month on various topics that the hazmat personnel will encounter during an incident. In addition, each team member must complete fit testing on GCHMU masks and receive and pass an annual physical.

May 08, 2010 @ Fairfield Fire Station, Dixie Highway - Meter Exercise (Indoor and Outdoor)

June 12, 2010 @ Fairfield Fire Headquarters - Full Scale Hands On Exercise (Outdoor) CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

July 10, 2010 @ Fort Wright Fire - Boom Training

August 14, 2010 @ Fairfield Fire Headquarters - Full Scale, Hands On Exercise (Outdoor) (***8:00 Start time)
